Cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ heading towards Odisha
Bhubaneswar, April 30: The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “FANI‟ over Southeast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal seems to be further intensifying.
Weather officials say it is set to become an Extremely Severe Cyclone in the next twelve hours.
The cyclonic storm may hit Odisha coast in between Balasore and Puri on 3rd May. During the landfall the wind speed may reach at 170 to 180 kmph .
It may reach up to 200 kmph. In view of a possible disaster, 12 NDRF, 20 ODRF and 335 teams of Odisha Fire Brigade have been deployed in the coastal area.
The cyclonic storm was centred at 800 kms distance from Puri coast at 11.30 today.
It is moving towards the Odisha coast at a speed of 22 kms per hour. As predicted by Indian Meteorological Center, Bhubaneswar the cyclonic storm will hit the coast at Puri in between Gopalpur and Chandabali by 2.30 pm to 5.30pm on 3rd May.
Wind speed during landfall maybe 170 to 180 kmph and later it may increase upto 200 kmph. or more.
