Charity work by DAV, Kalinga Nagar
Bhubaneswar, May 11: With a country-wide lockdown currently underway due to the COVID-19 pandemic, different economic activities have come to a standstill, jeopardising lives of the daily-wage workers and their families. At this critical juncture, staff of DAV, Kalinga Nagar, Bhubaneswar have risen to the occasion and extended their helping hand towards the struggling daily-wagers living with their families in temporary tents houses at Gothapatana, Bhubaneswar.
Under the flagship of Dr K. C Satapathy, Regional Officer, DAV Institutions, Zone-1, Odisha, Principal of the school Mr Bipin Kumar Sahoo along with Physical Education, Scout and Guide, NCC, JRC in-charge teachers and supervisors distributed packets containing grocery items, sanitary kit, mask and Rs 100 to each of the thirty families living there. During their brief sojourn, they interacted with the people regarding the difficulties faced by them and advised them to maintain social distance and personal hygiene.
At last they were appealed to extend their cooperation to the COVID-19 warriors by obeying the rules and regulations made by the government to fight the pandemic.
