Niranjan Urges to name Jharsuguda Airport after Veer Surendra Sai
Bhubaneswar, June 26: Jharsuguda Airport must be named after heroic son of Western Odisha Veer Surendra Sai, demands Mr. Niranjan Patnaik, Odisha PCC president.
In a letter written to Minister, Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, Mr. Patnaik has urged that as Surendra Sai is from Western Odisha, it will be proper to name the Airport after him. As per govt. plan Jharsuguda Airport is going to be operational from July 5. Before that govt. must take decision accordingly. He has also proposed to dedicate the public properties in memory of the heroes who have served the people of our land.
Copy of the letter has been sent to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Govt. of India, Mr. Jayanta Sinha Hon’ble MoS, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Govt. of Odisha, Secretary Civil Aviation Ministry, Govt. of India, Chairman Airport Authority of India and Director General Civil Aviation, Govt of India. The necessary infrastructure work of Jharsuguda Airport is now complete and ready for operations. This has been added in UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Admi) scheme and will serve under Regional connectivity Services (RCS).
